As the week rolls by, the Hallsta office is getting quieter and quieter as our employees head out to spend some much-deserved time with their loved ones. On their way out the door, each shared with us the tradition they look forward to the most this Holiday Season:

Renee Fields
Chief Operating Officer

Our Christmas Traditions have changed over the years because my kids are grown and they are establishing new traditions with their own families. However, one thing that remains constant is the Christmas stockings we create for them. They still love to get them and still look forward to them, especially because I put little kids’ gifts and toys in them. They play with them as though they are still 5-6 years olds! They love it and it’s one tradition we continue on even today.

Project Manager

My wife and I usually leave for the holidays. We like to go camping, exploring and adventuring. It’s pretty much what we do every holiday, especially at Christmas time. We hit the road and get out into nature!

Rick Redwine
Project Manager

I enjoy spending time with my family and my grandkids.

Bonnie Bulder
Administrative Assistant

My favorite Holiday tradition is having prime rib for dinner. 🙂

Yesenia Lopez
Director of Human Resources

My favorite tradition is one my family and I have been doing for years now: Posadas. We begin on the 16th and end on the 24th and it’s a really good way to keep the Christmas spirit alive.

Kelly Martinez
Co-Founder

I love watching my kids perform in the church Christmas play every year. Each year they pick a different theme – this year it was Toy Story and it was really cute. It’s been a fun way to keep the Christmas spirit going.

Growing up in Sweden, we had a tradition that at 3-o-clock on Christmas Eve, we would watch the Disney Christmas Special. It’s kind of crazy, but the whole country would watch it together at the same time. Literally, every family would sit together and watch it. Afterward, we would eat dinner and wait for Santa Clause to come. When we moved to the states, we brought the tradition with us. We watch the Disney Special, eat lots of pickled herring, and drink a lot of schnapps. It’s a tradition our kids love – not the schnapps necessarily – but the pickled herring and Disney Special.

Veronica Ramirez
Project Coordinator

My favorite traditions are watching Christmas movies (especially Elf), decorating the tree, and opening presents on Christmas Eve at midnight.

Mary Mendelsohn
Licensing and Regulatory Manager

My favorite family tradition is my husband writing our children – now in their 30s – a letter from Santa recounting highlights of the previous year. It’s really fun to look back over those letters which have now become collector’s items.

We hope you enjoyed learning more about our employees and maybe an idea or two for a tradition of your own! Happy Holidays from all of us at HALLSTA.
